Synopsis >
Minimalistic work with text and image random combinations based on Amazon Mechanical Turk projects. All texts and images included in progress in work were generated by MTurk workers. Each user that took part in this “virtually distributed workforce” (to quote from Amazon) was paid USD $ 0.05 per task, known as HITs (Human Intelligence Tasks). Each text displayed (left) is a HIT translation of a fragment from Venuti’s The Translator’s Invisibility. Each image (right) was shot by MTurk workers from their offices and workplaces as a HIT. —– Workers’ agreement was guaranteed. I assume all the uses of Amazon Mechanical Turk trademark.
