The Cátedra Ana Hatherly, with the support of Camões, Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua I.P., and in collaboration with the Fundação Cupertino de Miranda, and with the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD), would like to invite you to attend the event “VII Annual Conference of Cátedra Ana Hatherly – Ana Hatherly and Mário Cesariny: (Un)Predictable dialogues/ Ana Hatherly e Mário Cesariny: Diálogos (Im)Prováveis”. To celebrate the 100th birthday of the late poet Mario Cesariny, the VII Annual Conference of Ana Hatherly will analyze the work of 2 major poets and artists of the Portuguese 20th century cultural scenario: Ana Hatherly and Mário Cesariny. What is the relationship between Surrealism and Concrete Poetry? Why is the work of these artists/poets still so relevant nowadays? What kind of connections can be drawn between both of them? Deolinda Adão will interview Perfecto Cuadrado and Rui Torres, who will explain the contribution of Mário Cesariny and Ana Hatherly to the transformation of Portuguese Literature in the second half of the 20th century.
