REMIXING THE ARCHIVE · Five Dimensions of Experimental Text

REMIXING THE ARCHIVE was a cycle of five sessions dedicated to presenting, activating, and remixing the Digital Archive of Portuguese Experimental Literature, approaching the archive not as a fixed repository but as a living, unstable, and reprogrammable body of material. Each session explored the intersection of research, curatorial practice, artistic creation, and public discussion through five dimensions of experimental poetics: Text–Image, Text–Text, Text–Sound, Text–Space, and Text–Code.
The series was curated and led by Rui Torres, with a guest specialist participating in each session. Through remix, performance, expanded reading, and programming, the project revisited historical materials from PO.EX, bringing them into dialogue with contemporary practices in digital poetry, visual arts, performance, sound art, experimental publishing, and algorithmic culture.
More than presenting an archive, REMIXING THE ARCHIVE proposed a critical and creative engagement with the very idea of the archive in the digital age: unstable, recombinatory, political, and in a constant state of rewriting.
