Participação no colóquio internacional «Texts Worth Editing»

Resumo da comunicação: «Portuguese experimental poetry of the 1970s and 1980s includes visual poetry, sound poetry, video-poetry, performance poetry, and computer poetry. Experimental literary objects, practices, and events often consist of an interaction between notational forms on paper and site-specific live performances. Thus the eventuality of literary meaning is dramatically foregrounded by turning the text into a script for an act whose performance constitutes the work. The aim of “PO-EX ‘70-’80”, an ongoing research project, is to represent this intermedia textuality of experimental works in a digital archive. The multimodal materiality of hypermedia textuality seems particularly adequate for representing those performative dimensions of literary practices, and also for preserving the ephemeral nature of their inscriptional traces – in various paper and book formats, video and sound recordings, and computer machines and codes. Editing multimodal texts for a digital environment forces us to address a number of specific questions related to documents, methods, contexts, and uses.»
